In precision machining business, sometimes service is not all about following whatever clients demand and ask, but to counter with thoughtful disagreements. Last week we received an enquiry from a new German client, when we review the incoming drawings, we found that the designed tolerance ±0.001mm was too strict considering its material of plastic, so we declined the order, and specifically pointed out to client flaws with the drawings.
In the end, we did not annoy the client. On the contrary, client amended the drawing and confirmed the order with us. As a pleasant surprise, by the end of the week, we are also recommended to another client by this customer.
